Clara Ataya
Speech and Language Therapist
Assessment and therapy for children and adults with speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing difficulties.
What is speech and language therapy?
Speech and language therapy helps people of all ages who have difficulty communicating or swallowing. A speech and language therapist assesses how a person speaks, understands, expresses ideas, uses their voice and eats safely, then builds a personalised therapy plan around what matters most in their daily life.
Therapy is practical and progressive. Each session works on specific skills through guided exercises, play and conversation, and families receive simple activities to continue at home between sessions.
Who can benefit
- Children who are late to talk or hard to understand
- Speech sound difficulties and unclear pronunciation
- Stuttering and other fluency disorders
- Language delay and difficulties with understanding or expression
- Communication differences linked to autism or developmental conditions
- Voice problems such as hoarseness or vocal strain
- Communication and swallowing difficulties after a stroke, injury or illness
